Project summary
SAFE FIREFIGHTER aims to equip trainers and instructors with innovative tools and psychological insights to promote a new safety culture in firefighting. Partners will focus on exchanging best practices in high-risk rescue scenarios, passing this know-how to colleagues, and increasing the quality of education for both new recruits and seasoned professionals. In the world of emergency services, the importance of safety-oriented training cannot be underestimated. Where life safety is at risk, the competence and self-preservation of the responders should be paramount. When the community calls for help, they deserve rescue professionals who are not only brave but also operate with maximum safety and professional discipline.
In addition, the project will develop modern digital materials, such as podcasts and video tutorials, to reach the firefighting community and foster a discussion on the "No Hero Syndrome."
Further OBJECTIVES of the project are:
- To build a community in firefighting in order to exchange good practices in safety procedures during specialized training: CBRNe, rescue from water, heights, and hot fire environments.
- To engage various stakeholders (trainers, students, and management) in a meaningful discussion on the modern safety challenges faced by new firefighters.
- To empower firefighting schools with innovative communication tools, such as professional podcasts and instructional videos, to enhance their training impact.
- To increase the quality of training programmes by integrating international expertise and practical safety protocols into daily routines.
The project will be a giant step forward in ensuring that firefighting organizations create a professional, enriched, and motivating learning environment. The focus is on training the trainers and providing them with a practical platform to exchange expertise, while also involving firefighter students who are on the front line of becoming the next generation of safety-conscious specialists.
Through the creation of teacher’s guides, video tutorials, and dedicated podcast series, SAFE FIREFIGHTER will contribute to a healthier, safer, and more prepared firefighting community across Europe.
